Privacy notice
Effective November 3, 2026 · Research beta
Information used for your account
We store your email address, a salted password hash, verification status, and account creation date. We also keep hashed session and verification/reset tokens and limited request counters to protect sign-in and records access. Passwords are not stored as readable text.
Cookies and browser storage
An essential session cookie keeps you signed in and protects account forms. Saved-member watchlists are stored in your browser under a separate key for each account. Clearing browser storage removes those saved lists from that browser. We do not use advertising or analytics trackers in this beta.
Account emails
The hosting mail provider processes verification and password-reset messages. Pending account messages are encrypted in the application’s private mail queue. Completed or failed queue records are cleaned up after seven days. Verification links expire after 24 hours; reset links expire after 30 minutes. Your mailbox provider may retain delivered messages under its own policies.
Research and drafts
Research records come from public official sources. “Write to Congress” drafts remain in the open page unless you copy, export or open them in your own email application. They are not sent automatically by this service.
Storage and requests
Account records are kept in private server storage while your account is retained. To request account removal or ask a privacy question, email stephen@congressionaltracker.com. We use account information to operate and protect the service; this beta does not sell it or use it for advertising.
